A sliding module in a sliding-type portable terminal is provided to enable a slider to make a sliding motion on a sliding plate smoothly by installing the first magnets and the second magnets, which is different in polarity, respectively at the sliding plate and the slider so that the friction between the sliding plate and the slider can be minimized by the magnetism or repulsion between the first magnets and the second magnets. In a sliding-type portable terminal having the first housing and the second housing, a sliding module(100) comprises a sliding plate(101), a pair of sliding guides(111), a slider(102), the first magnets(113), and the second magnets(121,123). The sliding plate(101) is mounted at one surface of the first housing. The sliding guides(111) are installed at both sides of one surface of the sliding plate(101) along the length of the sliding plate(101). The slider(102), fixed to the second housing, faces the sliding plate(101). The first magnets(113), facing one another, are respectively arranged at the inner lateral sides of the sliding guides(111). The second magnets(121,123), installed at both sides of the slider(102), are respectively arranged between the first magnets(113).
