A system and a method for calling a car owner are provided to grasp whether an owner is present within a car by using a terminal including only an identification number of the terminal mounted in the car, and call the car owner through the grasped result. A method for calling a car owner comprises the following steps of: searching a temporary number of a car terminal matched with a car identification number when receiving a car owner call request including the car identification number(S101,S103,S105); requesting and receiving car state information from the car terminal based on the temporary number of the car terminal(S107,S109); confirming whether or not the car state information is starting mode information(S111); if not so, searching information about an owner terminal matched with the car identification number, and attempting call connection to a corresponding owner terminal by using the searched owner terminal information(S113); and performing call connection between the owner terminal and a caller terminal when receiving a response to the call connection request from the owner terminal(S115).
