A method for preparing a copper selenide compound is provided to control the size and size distribution of the copper selenide compound easily, increase a reaction rate, and prevent the contamination of reactants causable by other factors. A method for preparing a copper selenide compound includes the steps of: adding a copper salt compound and a selenious acid(H2SeO3) to a predetermined solvent; and heating the admixture to prepare a copper selenide compound. The copper salt compound is copper nitrate, copper sulfate, copper chloride, or copper hydroxide. The solvent is a polyol-based compound which is polyethylene glycol, ethylene glycol, or 1,4-butanediol. The reaction system is heated at 120-160 ‹C. Further, the copper selenide is CuSe2.
