A device and a method for reproducing optical information using LDPC(Low Density Parity Check) code are provided to minimize failure rate of decoding by increasing average preciseness of pixel corresponding to the specific LDPC code. A device for reproducing optical information using low density parity check code comprises a light source(110), an optical detector(150), and a decoding part(180). The optical detector detects data page reproduced in a recording medium by projecting the light from the light source to the recording medium. The decoding part discriminates an address block included in the data page, detects a mark positioned at the center of a data block and a sub-block included in the data block from plural data blocks included in the data page, and decodes data of the sub-block. The decoding part consists of a demapping part demapping the sub-block of the data page detected by the optical detector, and a decoder performing LDPC decoding using the value demapped by the demapping part.
