An external power supply device of a semiconductor memory device is provided to supply a different external input power supply voltage selectively to the semiconductor memory device according to the operation mode of the semiconductor memory device. A first power supply voltage supplying part supplies a first external power supply voltage(1). A second power supply voltage supplying part supplies a second external power supply voltage(2). A switching part(3) performs switching operation to supply the first or the second external power supply voltage selectively in response to a control signal having voltage supplying information per operation mode. A power supply voltage path part(4) transfers the first or the second power supply voltage to the inside of a semiconductor memory chip(5) according to the operation of the switching part.
