摘要 A packet processing method in accordance with each flow by using a network processor in a Diffserv-over-MPLS(Multi Protocol Label Switching) network is provided to be capable of realizing a range classifier and a scheduler without jitters by using the network processor, thereby more easily implementing an improved architecture as well as fast speed through realization of the network processor. An ingress node receives packets. The node analyzes the received packets to send MPLS packets to an MPLS ILM(Incoming Label Mapping) micro block(207), and sends other packets to a range classifier(203). If the classifier(203) finds flows suited for a designated policy, the corresponding packets are allocated with flow IDs, LSP(Label Switching Path) IDs, and class IDs. A metering process for finding out color values of the packets is performed according to each flow. The class IDs and color IDs are inserted into DSCP fields of IP(Internet Protocol) headers of the packets. An MPLS FTN(FEC To Nexthop) micro block(206) applies MPLS processing matched with a particular FEC. A scheduler(209) receives the packets to schedule the packets in a transmission queue, and transfers the scheduled packets to a switch network.
