A coherent phase enhancement spectrum detector using orthonormal tapering and a method thereof are provided to randomly increase size of a wave area by using a taper having orthonormal properties when power spectrum of a periodic signal is measured, thereby additionally obtaining noise attenuation effect. NxM data is divided into M blocks, and the divided block data are applied with an FFT(Fast(discrete) Fourier Transform) process(401). The data blocks are expanded through orthonormal tapering, and the expanded data blocks are applied with an FFT(discrete) process into ensemble areas(403,405). Signals further reacting as many as tapers are classified as signals of the same properties, and the classified signals are shuffled again(407).
