A network device control method and a device are provided to carry out a network service by only using a network device selected by a user, therefore the user can easily confirm the currently used network device as efficiently managing the network device since a network service is performed by using the selected network device only. A network utility software(10) by which a user can use a network service is prepared. When a request for the network service is generated by the network utility software, a protocol driver(20) which transfers the service request IM(Intermediate) drivers(30a-30d) existing on a driver stack of network devices(40a-40d) is prepared. A utility(50) selects/sets one of network devices(40) mounted on a system. A processing unit(30) enables a network service by using the network device(40) selected by the utility(50) when a network service request is generated. The utility(50) is a program displayed on a screen according to key button operation of the system. The utility(50) comprises as follows. A display(54) displays a mounted state of the network devices(40). A selector(52) selects one of the displayed network devices(40).
