A magnetic recording medium and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve information storage density by reducing ruled temperature through adjustment of the thickness of a film. A magnetic recording medium comprises an information recording unit for recording information, and an information storage unit for magnetically recording the information by the information recording unit. The information storage unit includes an FePt-Sb film formed by simultaneously depositing iron(Fe), platinum(Pt), and antimony(Sb), where antimony(Sb) is added by 8%, or an FePt-Cu film formed by simultaneously depositing iron(Fe), platinum(Pt), and copper(Cu), where copper(Cu) is added by 11%. The film is deposited by using an RF(Radio Frequency) magnetron sputtering device.
