PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely make a gain from an input terminal to an output terminal constant in a simple manner in a transmission system which transmits a CDMA signal. SOLUTION: A pilot signal whose band is overlapped on that of a main signal with a CDMA-modulated radio signal carried thereon is generated. Then, the main signal is cut off from a transmission line for a regulated time, and the pilot signal is connected. Then, a receiving side takes out the pilot signal to monitor its signal level. On the basis of the result of the monitoring, the gain of a variable gain amplifier 6 is controlled to make the gain within the transmission line constant. In particular, by setting the regulated time is to be≤100 msec, hit is prevented by a RAKE receiving function of a CDMA receiver (such as a radio terminal) of and after an output terminal 8.
