PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing copper powder where extremely fine, almost spherical copper powder having high crystallinity and uniform grain sizes is produced in a simple process. SOLUTION: In the method for producing copper powder where a copper salt aqueous solution is mixed with alkali hydroxide and reducing sugar, thereby producing cuprous oxide, and the cuprous oxide is reduced with a hydrazine based reducing agent, thereby obtaining metal copper, the cuprous oxide is produced in the presence of acrylic acid and/or acrylamido.
