PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To delay deposition of residuals at the tip of a center electrode of a plug. SOLUTION: A hammering piston 4 is vertically slidably provided on a hammering cylinder 3 provided in a tool body 1. In addition, a combustion chamber is opened/closed by vertically moving a movable sleeve 10 provided on an upper part of the cylinder 3 to bring it into contact with and farther away from the cylinder 3 and a cylinder head 8 above it. Mixture gas obtained by stirring and mixing a combustible gas and the air by a rotary fan 16 in the combustion chamber is ignited by an ignition plug 15 provided on the head 8 to explosively burn. The high pressure combustion gas is applied to the hammering piston 4 to impulsively drive and place a nail by a driver 5 coupled with a lower surface of the piston. A gas-combustion-type placing tool is thus constituted. A reservoir 25 for temporarily storing residuals remaining after the combustion of the mixture gas is provided between an exposed base and a tip of a center electrode of the ignition plug 15 which is exposed outside in a downward posture.
