摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a forged product, in which the distribution of volume of a material can be optimized, and even when the shape of the forged product is complicated, the development of burr can be prevented and the improvement in yield and the reduction in forming load are attained. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the forged product includes a heating process for heating a starting material; and a forming process for forming into a prescribed shape by pressing the heated material with a die. The method has a filling process for filling the material elements into the mold space 22 before the heating process, wherein a plurality of material elements smaller than the size of the forging product are used as the starting material, and a box-mold 21 (material holding member) which has a heat resistance to the heat in the heating process and also, has a deformability to such an extent as not to interrupt the formation of the material in the forming process and has a mold space 22 of a similar shape to the last product shape, is used as a member for holding the plurality of material elements to be used as the starting material, and the box-mold 21 filled with the material elements is the object to be pressed in the forging process.
