A portable terminal having a reinforcement member is provided to expand battery capacity by providing a battery mounting structure which occupies a narrower space and has a stable coupling structure. A portable terminal comprises a reinforcement member(101d) and a cover member. The reinforcement member(101d), installed at a housing, comprises a plurality of clamping pieces(115). The cover member, separably installed at the housing, comprises a plurality of clamping slots corresponding to the clamping pieces(115). A battery pack, which is mounted at the housing, is inserted between the reinforcement member(101d) and the cover member. The clamping pieces(115), which are placed at supporting holes formed at each intermediate case(101b), respectively are bent and extended from both side ends of reinforcement member(101d), facing one another in the form of enclosing both sides of the battery pack. Each of the clamping pieces(115) respectively has a clamping boss(116). The clamping bosses(116) respectively engage with the clamping slots.
