A portable eavesdropping detector is provided to detect a hidden camera in real-time and transmit a detection notification message to a user using a telephone network. A portable eavesdropping detector includes a microcomputer(10), which receives a signal from a hidden camera detector and outputs a control signal. A memory(11) stores plural telephone numbers and an alarm message. An automatic dialing unit(13) is connected to the microcomputer and dials one of the stored telephone numbers when a detection notification signal is received from the hidden camera detector. A message output unit(14) automatically outputs an alarm message stored in the memory, when a call is established.
