<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inhibiting the production of citrinin in Monascus purpureus in a good efficiency and stably. <P>SOLUTION: This method for inhibiting the production of citrinin in the Monascus purpureus is characterized by inhibiting the expression of a polyketide synthase in the M. purpureus having a citrinin production function by using an RNAi (RNA interference) method. A gene having a specific base sequence inhibiting the citrinin production in the M. purpureus, a vector containing the gene, and the M. purpureus having the decreased citrinin production function by the transformation with the combination of the vectors are also provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
