<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively prevent the surface layer of a latent image carrier from being peeled off. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a charging roller 30 for charging a photoreceptor drum 20 in contact with the circumferential surface of the photoreceptor drum 20; a developing roller 52 that supplies developer to an electrostatic latent image on the circumferential surface of the charged photoreceptor drum 20 to form a toner image; a transfer roller 60 for transferring the toner image to a paper P; a cleaning device 70 for removing the toner left on the circumferential surface of the photoreceptor drum 20 after a transfer process; and first and second destaticizing lamps 81 and 82 disposed on the upstream side and the downstream side across the cleaning device 70. The discharging lamp 80 is configured to discharge the residual charge on the circumferential surface of the photoreceptor drum 20 with irradiation of discharging light toward a width direction orthogonal to the rotating direction of the photoreceptor drum 20, and light shielding plates 90 as light amount reducing means for reducing the light amount of the destaticizing light while targeting both end parts (non image forming areas R4) of the photoreceptor drum 20 are disposed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
