PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens which is miniaturized and easily secures aberration performance. SOLUTION: The zoom lens has a first lens group having positive refractive power, a second lens group having negative refractive power, a third lens group having positive refractive power, and a fourth lens group having positive refractive power in order from an object side. When varying power from a wide angle end to a telephoto end, space between the first lens group and the second lens group, space between the second lens group and the third lens group and space between the third lens group and the fourth lens group are changed. The second lens group has a biconcave negative lens nearest to the object side, and comprises two or less negative lenses and a positive lens as a whole. The zoom lens satisfies a conditional expression (1): 0.0<SF<SB>2n1</SB><0.9, and a conditional expression (16): 3.8<f<SB>t</SB>/f<SB>w</SB><10.0. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
