PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire 2 capable of enhancing the turning performance of a vehicle. SOLUTION: The tire 2 comprises a tread 4, a bead 8, a carcass 10, a belt 12, and a band 14 located between the belt 12 and the tread 4. The band 14 comprises a front side ply 30 extending in the axial direction from the end 34 at the front side of the band 14 to the end 36 on the back side thereof, and a back side play 32 extending in the axial direction from the end 36 at the back side of the band 14 to the end 34 at the front side. The front side ply 30 has a front side cord. The back side ply 32 has a back side cord. The ratio of the modulus of the front side cord to the modulus of the back side cord is≥2. Preferably, the modulus of the front side cord of the tire 2 is≥2.7N/tex and≤9.0N/tex, and the modulus of the back side cord is≥1.4N/tex and≤4.5N/tex. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
