PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a shock-absorbing effect and durability, and to dispense with enlargement of a bumper. SOLUTION: A shock-absorbing mechanism of a pneumatic tool integrally couples a driver 8 with the lower surface of a striking piston 7 sliding inside a striking cylinder 6, drives a fastener with the driver 8 by driving the striking piston 7 by compressed air introduced inside the striking cylinder 6, and receives the lower surface of the driven striking piston 7, wherein the end of the striking cylinder 6 has a housing part 16 of the bumper 15 for receiving the lower surface of the striking piston 7 with the bumper 15 housed in the housing part 16 shaped into a cylinder, the center part 15b of this bumper 15 shaped thicker than the upper and lower parts 15a, 15c, and the upper and lower parts 15a, 15c thickened to be nearly the same.
