Disclosed is a bactericidal agent against a pathogenic bacterium of a periodontal disease, which has a potent bactericidal effect against a gram-negative rod-shaped bacterium that causes a periodontal disease (a), while having a weak bactericidal effect against a streptococcus bacterium that is a normal dental-plaque-derived bacterium colonized in an oral cavity (b). Also disclosed is an oral health agent comprising the bactericidal agent. Further disclosed is a food comprising the bactericidal agent. Specifically disclosed are: (1) a bactericidal agent against a pathogenic bacterium of a periodontal disease, which comprises a component derived from a frass of a red longhorn beetle (Purpuricenus temminckii); (2) an oral health agent comprising a component derive from a frass of a red longhorn beetle; and (3) a food which comprises a bactericidal agent against a pathogenic bacterium of a periodontal disease comprising a component derive from a frass of a red longhorn beetle.
