A device for exchanging foreign currency is provided to exchange local currency of passengers with foreign currency corresponding to a destination country in an airplane by using and updating an exchange rate table. A main unit(10) includes a manual controller(11), a manual control panel(14), and an exchange rate display part(13). Two currency units(30) comprise an exchange controller, an amount display part(32), and a currency I/O(Input/Output) part(33). The manual control panel is programmed to exchange local currency with foreign currency corresponding to a destination country by setting one currency as the local currency and setting another one currency as the foreign currency. The currency unit includes a currency code for enabling the manual controller to recognize the currency of the currency I/O part. The manual control panel includes a monitor and a keyboard, and the keyboard includes an exchange cancellation key. The manual controller includes an embedded memory(12) storing exchange rate data and updates the exchange rate table with data provided from the manual control panel. |
