A method for engraving images on a stone plate is provided to carve the elaborate image similar to the real image at low cost, by spraying an abrasive on a photoresist film on the front surface at uniform pressure by a sand blaster. A method for engraving images(E) on a stone plate(6) comprises the steps of: printing the image on a light transmitting transparent sheet(3) by using a computer(1) and a printer(2)(S10); forming the image on a photoresist film(4) by irradiating the light by installing the transparent sheet printed with the image, on an exposure device(5) as an original plate together with the photoresist film(S20); and stippling the image formed on the photoresist film, on the stone plate by the light and shade generated due to difference of stippling degrees, by bringing the photoresist film printed with the image, into contact with the upside of the stone plate and spraying an abrasive(8) on the photoresist film by a sand blaster(7)(S30).
