<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information management system for enabling a user to browse confidential information, and for preventing the leakage of confidential information as much as possible by sufficiently increasing the confidential consciousness of a user in the case of browsing the confidential information. <P>SOLUTION: In an information management system 1, a user computer 3 requests the browsing of confidential information by outputting the user information of a user who wants to browse the confidential information and information designation information for designating the confidential information to a host computer 2. When receiving a request from the user computer 3, the host computer 2 acquires the requested confidential information from a confidential information file 16 when the user information of the user who has made a request exists in a user information file 15.
