PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device and a feed screw mechanism capable of improving rigidity by surely eliminating backlash, even if the thread accuracy of a feed screw shaft or a feed nut is poor due to the easy adjusting work of backlash, and consequently reducing the manufacturing cost of the feed screw mechanism. SOLUTION: The screwing distance of a pressing force adjusting screw 77 is appropriately adjusted, whereby the circular contact surface 761 of a pressing member 76 can be pressed to an outer diameter part 711 of the feed screw shaft 71 by a required pressing force. As the result, backlash between the feed nut 73 and the feed screw shaft 71 is eliminated. Accordingly, the telescopic position adjustment and tilt position adjustment of a steering wheel 3 can be smoothly performed, and the rigidity of the steering wheel 3 after position adjustment is improved.
