PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of achieving pan/tilt photographing without causing largeness of a device and a cost increase. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus for imaging an object has an imaging device having an imaging plane for converting light from an objective lens into an electric signal and a reflection element for reflecting light from the objective lens and guiding the light to the imaging device, wherein the imaging plane is composed in a first aspect ratio, and a region for reading the electric signal in the first aspect ratio in imaging a still image of the object, reading the electric signal in a second aspect ratio different from the first aspect ratio in imaging a moving image of the object and reading the electric signal when performing second imaging obtained by changing an imaging direction from first imaging in imaging the moving image of the object includes a region in which the electric signal is not read during the first imaging.
