PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sandbag for civil engineering having strength not causing tearing by deterioration by an ultraviolet ray while maintaining design strength, even if being left as it is over a long time after laying. SOLUTION: This sandbag for civil engineering has a cylindrical base cloth bag body 1 to which an infilling material is filled, and a suspending suspension belt 2 composed of an endless belt installed in the base cloth bag body 1 by crossing at a right angle on the bottom surface of the base cloth bag body 1 and forming two suspension parts in an upper part of the base cloth bag body 1. The sandbag A for civil engineering is formed by previously excessively imparting the strength of a quantity equivalent to the strength deterioration by the ultraviolet ray after the lapse of time of at least one year.
