IDENTIFICATION OF MONASCUS PURPUREUS-ORIGINATED PHYSIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE MATERIAL PRODUCTION-INDUCING FACTOR AND APPLICATION OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transcription factor capable of comprehensively regulating the transcription of a multiple number of genes in a citrinin biosynthesis system.

SOLUTION: This gene containing a polynucleotide consisting of a specific base sequence encoding the transcription factor for inducing the expression of the citrinin biosynthesis system gene originated from Monascus purpureus, the method for inhibiting the biosynthesis of citrinin comprising a process of inhibiting the expression of the gene, the method for recovering the citrinin synthetic function in a filamentous fungi inhibited with the biosynthesis of the citrinin and the method for accelerating the production of the citrinin are provided.
