PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To do without performing complicated operation for separately performing setting of a display language for a menu picture and setting of output voice for bilingual broadcasting, by providing a display device including a control function for operatively connecting the language used for menu picture display to a language used for voice output in bilingual broadcasting or the like. SOLUTION: The display device includes: a receiving section; an OSD display language selecting section for selecting a language to be used for OSD display from among a plurality of language candidates; a voice language selecting section for selecting any language other than main-voice as a voice output language when a received signal contains data that can be voice-output in the other language in addition to main-voice; and a first control section which makes a control to cause the voice language selecting section to select any language, other than the main-voice, as the voice output language when a selection result of the OSD display language selecting section indicates that a language other than the initially set language has been selected.
