PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position information acquisition system capable of acquiring current position information of a portable terminal at proper timing and whose convenience is improved. SOLUTION: In PCs 2, 3, 4, a specification means specifies a specific area on a map and a two-dimensional coding means converts specification information indicating the specific area into two-dimensional codes to output them. In addition, in a portable phone 1, a reading means reads the two-dimensional codes, a registration means registers the read specification information, a position information acquisition means acquires the current position information, a judgment means judges whether or not a notification condition that the current position of the portable phone 1 comes inside or outside the specific area in the specification information is satisfied based on the acquired current position information and a transmitting means transmits prescribed information to the PCs 2, 3, 4 when it is judged that the notification condition is satisfied by the judgment means.
