PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems wherein it is difficult to secure a sufficient interlens distance because of recent demands for miniaturization of cameras and miniaturization of imaging optical systems, and coating or painting of reflection prevention films increases camera cost, in such a conventional technique for preventing incidence to lens surfaces to prevent ghosts from being generated by a bright light source such as the sun, as forming reflection prevention films on the lens surfaces, by painting a lens structure black, and providing a sufficient distance between the lenses. SOLUTION: A device is equipped with: a difference processing circuit 16 for finding the difference between a focused image at a focused position of a focusing lens to an imaging element and a de-focused image at a position displaced from the focused position, concerning an image picked up by the imaging element 6 through the focusing lens 5; a ghost detection circuit 17 for detecting a ghost from a difference processed image formed by the difference processing circuit; and a ghost detection control circuit 15 for controlling the difference processing circuit and the ghost detection circuit along with controlling a focusing lens drive circuit 10.
