PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fixing a capacitor element for compensating the area of a rib fixed on the rear of a shrunk sealing plate for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor. SOLUTION: The aluminum electrolytic capacitor is provided by pressing down the capacitor element by the fixed rib fitted on the case internal-surface side of the sealing plate, the laminate of the thickness of one layer or a plurality of layers of leading-out leads, and a projecting height in a case for an external terminal and the case-base side on the reverse side.
