PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anti-refouling agent for clothes detergent having good anti-refouling performance even when quantity of water is not much. SOLUTION: This anti-refouling agent for clothes detergent contains a vinyl polymer comprising (A) a (meth)acrylic acid (salt) and (B) a vinyl monomer expressed by formula (1) as essential constituent monomers. Preferably the content (mol%) of the unit (A) is 50-99.5 mol% and the content (mol%) of the unit (B) is 0.5-50 mol%, each based on the total molar number of the (meth)acrylic acid (salt) unit (A) and the vinylic monomer unit (B). In the formula, R<SP>1</SP>represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; AO represents a 2-4C oxyalkylene group; p is an integer of 2-200; and X represents a hydrogen atom, a 1-18C alkyl group, a 2-18C alkenyl group or an aromatic ring-containing a 6-24C hydrocarbon group.
