PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in which liquid such as ink or waterdrops at the time of dew condensation or the like deposited on the surface of a conveyor belt is attached to a charging member following the rotation of the conveyor belt as the charging member is always in contact with the conveyor belt which leads to occurrence of leak detection. SOLUTION: A charging unit 200 installs in a unit frame 201 a charging roller 34, springs 202, 203 for pressing the charging roller 34 to a conveyor belt 31 side of a conveyor belt unit 130 and an electrode member 204 having a contact part 204a for abutting on the end surface of one end of the charging roller 34 and applying a high voltage (AC bias) to the charging roller 34.
