The invention concerns a child car seat, comprising a base ( 12, 201 ) and a seat ( 11, 91 ) pivoting in relation to said base ( 12, 201 ) in such as way as to assume at least two positions: an utilisation position (facing the road), in which a locking element ( 14, 203 ) affixed to the upper part of the backrest of said seat ( 11 ) and a locking element ( 21, 202 ) affixed to said base ( 12, 201 ) are locked together at least one installation position (facing a door), in which said locking elements ( 14, 203, 21, 202 ) are unlocked. According to the invention, one of said first locking elements comprises at least one mobile hook ( 203, 21 ) that can move from an unlocked position to a locked position in which it cooperates with a fixed hooking element ( 202, 14 ) of said second locking element, and in that it comprises at least one latch ( 206, 207 ) that can assume two positions: a rest position in which said latch or latches ( 206, 207 ) hold said hook ( 203 ) in its unlocked position a release position in which said hook ( 203 ) moves to its locked position.
