A backlight assembly and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having the backlight assembly are provided to directly insert a connection pad of an inverter printed circuit board to a lamp power connector formed on the bottom face of a bottom chassis to reduce defects generated due to a lamp connector of the bottom chassis. A backlight assembly(300) includes a plurality of lamps(360), a bottom chassis and an inverter printed circuit board. The plural lamps provide light. The bottom chassis has a bottom face(410) and a side wall(414) extended from the bottom face. A plurality of combining holes(412) combined with a lamp holder is formed at the bottom face, and a lamp power connector electrically connected to the lamps is formed at one side of the bottom face. The inverter printed circuit board includes a plurality of components for supplying power to the lamps and a plurality of power connectors electrically connected to the lamp power connector. |
