<p>An automatic warehouse (1) having shelves (2mn) and a conveyance device (10), wherein the conveyance device (10) has a lifting table (12) and a reflection type identification code reading device (15). The identification code reading device (15) is integrally constructed with the lifting table (12), is attached to an installation member (13) moving up and down with the lifting table (12), and has a mirror (16) and an identification code reader (17) for receiving an image of an identification code (4) reflected by the mirror (16) and reading the identification code (4). Because of this arrangement, although the identification code reader (17) needs a predetermined distance to read the identification code (4) attached on the upper surface of a stored object (3) transferred to the lifting table (12), the identification code reader (17) can read, independent of this predetermined distance, the identification code (4) attached on the upper surface of the stored object (3) when it is transferred from an uppermost shelf (2mu), where the object is stored, to the lifting table (12). As a result, there is no waste space over the uppermost shelf (2mu).</p> |
