<p>The aim of the invention is to operate induction coils (L1, L2) of an induction cooking hob (11) with as little noise as possible. Said aim is achieved by operating the induction coils (L1, L2) at the same frequency fg (mode of operation a) or at a frequency difference Deltaf of about 18 kHz (mode of operation c), especially during alternating operation.
