A method of operating a portable electronic device is disclosed. The meth od includes receiving and storing calendared events at the portable electron ic device, determining whether ones of the calendared events conflict, order ing the calendar events by time in a list based on respective start date/tim es, and whether plural calendared events have a same start date/time, orderi ng the plural calendared events based on respective end date/times, and prov iding the time-ordered list to the user in a graphical user interface includ ing a notification of conflict if it is determined that the ones of the cale ndared events conflict.
