<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound oxide which has excellent heat resistance and is useful as a catalyst for removing nitrogen oxide in the presence of ammonia and to provide a method for producing the compound oxide, and to provide the catalyst for removing nitrogen oxide, which contains the compound oxide as an effective component, a method for removing nitrogen oxide by using the catalyst for removing nitrogen oxide and an apparatus for removing nitrogen oxide, which is provided with the catalyst for removing nitrogen oxide. <P>SOLUTION: The compound oxide contains cerium oxide of 15-30 wt.%, titanium oxide, zirconium oxide and a sulfate radical (a sulfate ion: SO<SB>4</SB><SP>2-</SP>) of ≥1.6 wt.% and is excellent in catalytic activity (the capacity of removing nitrogen oxide in the presence of ammonia) and heat resistance. Therefore, the compound oxide containing cerium oxide of 15-30 wt.%, titanium oxide, zirconium oxide and the sulfate radical of ≥1.6 wt.% is useful in removing nitrogen oxide. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
