<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic keyboard musical instrument in which the key region of a keyboard is automatically and optimally divided. <P>SOLUTION: When the key region of the keyboard which is composed of a plurality of keys arranged in a predetermined pitch order, is divided into at least two non-overlapping regions, it is automatically divided so that the relative arrangement position of each key in two regions and the number of keys can be the same, and more keys can be included in each region. Moreover, it is instructed that a tone generated according to the operation of any key included in either one of the divided regions, and a tone generated according to the operation of a key included in another one of the divided regions, in which the relative arrangement position is the same as any one of the keys, are generated with the same pitch.
