PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface-mounting thin capacitor wherein its capacity is large and lead time of a manufacturing step can be shortened, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A plate-like extended valve-action metal is used as a positive electrode, and a positive electrode terminal 7 is led from its both ends to a mounting surface. A dielectric layer formed of an oxide film is formed on the surface of at least a central area of the positive electrode, and a conductive functional polymer film 2 is formed thereon. Furthermore, a negative electrode layer including a silver paste layer 4 is formed, and a plate-like negative electrode terminal 8 connected with the negative electrode layer is provided on the mounting surface. Thus, the surface-mounting thin capacitor has such the structure and is provided with multiple terminals. The width of square positive electrode terminal lead-outs 1e that is formed on both ends 1d of the valve-action metal positive electrode 1 with an oxide film is smaller than that of the valve-action metal positive electrode 1, and an insulative resist layer 5 is provided between the end of the positive electrode terminal lead-out 1e and the valve-action metal positive electrode 1 and the end of the conductive functional polymer film 2. The resist layer 5 is formed by bending the intermediate section of two U-shaped sides on both sides outward at a right angle and in a symmetrical manner. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
