PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque detector for detecting a rotation angle of a rotating shaft over a plurality of rotation together with a rotation torque in a simple composition. SOLUTION: The torque detector for calculating the rotation torque applied on a first shaft 2 or a second shaft 3 based on output signals of first and second resolvers 4 and 5 is provided with the first and second shafts 2 and 3 connected coaxially, and the first and second resolvers 4 and 5 for outputting periodical signals according to the respective rotation of the first and second shafts 2 and 3. The torque detector decelerates and transmits the rotation of the first shaft 2 to a carrier 63 by a planetary reduction gear 6 and outputs a signal changed periodically in response to the rotation of the carrier 63 by the first resolver 4. As the result, the torque detector can detect the rotation angle of the first shaft 2 or the second shaft 3 over the plurality of the rotation together with the rotation torque applied on the first shaft 2 or the second shaft 3 in the simple composition based on the output signals of the first and second resolvers 4 and 5 by properly selecting a speed reduction ratio of the planetary reduction gear 6.
