PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which makes a body liquid being absorbed by an absorber hard to leak out from the peripheral edge section of the rear flap in the absorbent article having the rear flap which is equipped with the absorber. SOLUTION: This absorbent article 1 has a substantially vertically long absorbent body 2, and a pair of rear flaps 3 and 3. In this case, the absorbent body 2 is equipped with a body front surface sheet 21 and a body rear surface sheet 22, and a body absorber 23 which is inserted between them. The pair of rear flaps 3 and 3 respectively extend outward in the width direction at least from both side sections of the rear section in the absorbent body 2. The rear flap 3 is equipped with a flat front surface sheet 31, a flap rear surface sheet 32, and a flap absorber 33 which is inserted between them.
