PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner preventing dust fallen from a second dust separation means from sticking to the second dust separation means again. SOLUTION: A second dust separation case 81 is provided with an outside air inlet 84F and a sixth opening/closing valve K6 for opening/closing the outside air inlet; and when first, third and fourth opening/closing valves K1, K3 and 28 are opened and fifth and the sixth opening/closing valves 2501 and K6 are closed to suck the dust and air from a dust suction port 57a, a second opening/closing valve K2 is closed by air flowing through an upstream air duct, the first, third and fourth opening/closing valves K1, K3 and 28 are closed and the fifth and sixth opening/closing valves 2502 and K6 are opened, so that the outside air introduced from the outside air inlet 84F is passed to the upstream air duct via a return air duct 2511 to open the second opening closing valve K2 and at the same time return the dust fallen from the second dust separation means 100 by a dust removing means to the return air duct 2511.
