PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type washing machine capable of improving the wettability of clothes in a short time by branching a water supply route and simultaneously supplying water into a water receiving tub and into a rotary drum in a rinsing process and improving a rinsing performance by alternately performing a water supply process and a water discharge process within the range of a prescribed water level until prescribed time elapses. SOLUTION: By providing a first water supply hose (first water supply route) 38a whose one end is communicated with a water supply valve 37 and other end is connected to a detergent case 35, a second water supply hose (first water supply route) 38b whose one end is communicated with the detergent case 35 and other end is communicated with the water receiving tub 26 and a third water supply hose 38c (second water supply route) whose one end is communicated with the detergent case 35 and other end is connected to a water supply cap 48 opened at a position for supplying the water from the front surface opening 24a of the rotary drum 24 to the inside of the rotary drum 24, the wettability of clothes is improved in a short time and the rinsing performance is improved.
