PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker for the improvement of the taste by efficiently generating steam with fine accuracy and achieving a smaller sized steam rice cooker for steam cooking by performing heating from an upper part, which is less liable to the heating of rice and water inside a pot, and preventing the drying of the upper part. SOLUTION: The rice cooker comprises: a rice cooker main body 21; a pot 22; a pot heating means 24 for heating the pot; a lid 23 for covering the opening of the pot; a steam generation means for generating steam; a steam heating means 43 for heating the steam generated by the steam generation means; and a water supply tank 27 for storing water to be supplied to the steam generation means. The steam generation means comprises an inner lid 29 provided with a recessed evaporation part 30 for storing water and the steam heating means for increasing the heat generation density of the evaporation part, and at least the evaporation part is provided with recessed and projected parts.
