A proposal is made for a method and a device used for it for the single or multiple coating of a continuously moved carrier web with a liquid coating material by the curtain coating method, in which a freely falling, vertical curtain is formed from the coating material and impinges on the carrier web along a wetting line.The present invention relates particularly to a method for producing a heat-sensitive recording material. The method is characterized in that, before passing the wetting line, the carrier web is pressed down over its entire width by at least one guiding element and, after passing the wetting line, is raised up by at least one supporting means in the form of a round element extending transversely in relation to the direction of movement of the carrier web, wherein the supporting means also comprises air directing means, with an angle between the carrier web and the upper side of the air directing means in the range from 2° to 15°. |
