AUTOMATIC COLD TREATMENT

A system and method of providing automatic temperature control to apply cold treatment to harvested produce that is being transported between jurisdictions. The method includes steps that iteratively transition between declining cooling temperatures and that transition between difference sets of cold treatment rules in pursuit of a compliance with cold treatment criteria while also pursuing energy efficiency.
