PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cleanability for a liquid delivering surface while suppressing the wasteful consumption of liquid. SOLUTION: This liquid delivering apparatus is equipped with a head 50, a pressure adjusting section 162, a head driving section 154, a cleaning member 66, and a controlling means. In this case, the head 50 has the liquid delivering surface 50a. The pressure adjusting section 162 adjusts the pressure in the head 50. The head driving section 154 drives the head 50. The cleaning member 66 slides on the liquid delivering surface 50a of the head 50. The controlling means makes a meniscus at the liquid delivering port of the head 50 into a protruding shape by pressurizing the inside of the head 50 by the pressure adjusting section 162. At the same time, the controlling means makes the cleaning member 66 perform a first sliding motion under a state in which a meniscus fine vibration waveform at a degree by which the liquid is not delivered by the head driving section 154 is imparted to the head 50, and wets the liquid delivering surface 50a with the liquid which is permeated from the liquid delivering port. In the meantime, the controlling means wipes off the liquid delivering surface 50a by making the cleaning member 66 perform a second sliding motion under a state in which the meniscus fine vibration waveform to the head 50 is stopped.
